I have a very thick E-Ring (4mm, I just measured). It has a beautiful 1.43 square center stone, and very small ~1mm channel set princess cut diamonds in the band. I like my ring, but I am wondering if there is a way to take out the small princess cut diamonds, put them into a wedding band, and put larger princess cut diamonds in the band to "fill out'' the band a bit more so to speak. What do you think? Am I being crazy? I haven''t told my fiance, I think I would hurt his feelings if I told him I wanted to change my ring, but I honestly think it would look even better.

Thanks, I honestly feel silly complaining or wanting to change my ring. Knowing that its can''t be done is enough to set me straight!

If the goal is to have a "band of diamonds" for the ring, having a new setting made is the easiest. Unless the current ring band can be made narrower (assuming it is solid) so that not too much metal shows on the sides of the channel set princess cuts. Basically, second what Feydakin says.

Is this what you have in mind ?

Can you post a picture of the ring ? The 1mm "diamond thread" you describe sounds wonderful
