You may remember at Christmas time, my grandpa bought my grandma a lovely emerald and diamond ring from Geoffrey''s. My grandparent''s are both handicapped and the level of service, professionalism and care that they gave my grandpa for the gift he bought definitely worked on me. I passed along the name of the jeweler to my husband, and we have stopped in a couple of times to get our jewelry cleaned and to get a few items repaired. Well, this week was our 9th anniversary. He came home from work with a lovely little wrapped box. I removed the paper and was SO excited to see a Geoffrey''s box!

He had purchased the micro-pave hoops that I wanted. They are absolutely perfect! They hug my lobe just right and I can wear them all the time.

That evening I was getting ready for bed and realized that something didn''t look right about one of the earrings when i looked in the mirror. I removed the earring and a diamond was missing :-(

The next morning we took the earrings to Geoffrey''s along with our rings to be cleaned and our bracelets. Steve had mentioned the difficulty that I have with gold and that my rings are starting to cause some trouble for me, unfortunately.

She took our rings, asked if we''d like them cleaned and platinum plated, I was thinking that it would take a long time to do. 45 minutes of looking at the gorgeous options, and the wonderful items for sale, and ALL of our rings were platinum plated along with the earrings, and the diamond was replaced in the earring... and we were charged a whopping... $0.

I really cannot tell you how extremely thrilled I am with this jeweler. Steve says they love us because I do a lot of research and when we go in I always know exactly what I want, quality, cut specs, color, clarity, dimensions, etc - one of the ladies that Steve has worked with a number of times has said to him that she loves customers like us because it makes their job easy, and it''s always fun for them to work with good quality pieces.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a little story about this great jeweler and the fantastic staff that works there!

If you are ever in San Carlos, California and you are looking to stop at a great jewelery store - visit Geoffrey''s - I promise, you will not be disappointed!... at least I haven''t been, and they have certainly made a repeat customer from Steve and I. We are already discussing the next item, which may be a custom piece, so I''ll let you know how that one turns out when we go in and discuss it with them.

Good to always hear of a reputable Bay Area jeweler!
How is platinum plating different from rhodium plating? Does it last longer than rhodium, which I''m noticing may need to be done every 2 years or so, depending on how much the piece is worn?
I''ve had some yellow gold things plated to be white ...
