Is it even remotely possible to find an amazing 3 carat round brilliant around $30k? By amazing I don''t mean perfect, I just mean dazzling!

I am doing searches and am not compltely clueless about evaluating speac, etc. . . but like other newbies, am hesitant to pull teh trigger on an online purchase.

Looks like that one is your best bet if it is eye-clean and you are okay with the color. The next two options, one each from WF and James Allen, are around/over $40k.

Keep in mind that there aren''t a lot of stones out there in that size, so your selection at any given time is likely to be limited. If you can wait and shop around a bit, you may be able to find exactly what you''re looking for.

I started another thread about a 3.68 stone we found today that my DH really likes and wants to move on. But something is telling me to look more even though while I''m looking at the stone and not the specs I''m spellbound.
I am dazzled by it, but when I leave the store, the I color bothers me even though I honestly didn''t see any color in it. The cut wasn''t Ideal but when compared next to a Ideal cut in color G they were comparable somehow.{?}
Part of the nagging voice is telling me that the price tag for the carat is too low, that I am being mesmerized by the size.

I''m a first time diamond buyer for an e-ring, with a fixed budget. I took the plunge and purchased a stone off the internet, 1.5ct I color ideal cut VS2. In most lighting, especially indoors, it looked amazing. But if there was any type of sunlight out, I could see the yellow color easily. On appraisal it was confirmed at the low end of I, close to J in color.

As Garry and some other experts say, the market isn''t silly - prices exist for a reason. If you are purchasing a 3 carat stone, I am guessing it will get a lot of eyeballs and color will be important. Also I think people say color is more obvious in larger stones. It was obvious to me in 1.5ct.

That said - there are plenty of people on PS etc. who love stones at I color. There''s a market for everything. That I color couldn''t sell at $30K unless there were at least a few people willing to spend it!

I ended up returning my perfectly cut I, dropped my carat weight to 1.3ct, and am looking to get a color no lower than G.

I''d consider all advice here on PS, some great people with some great advice. This was just my 2 cents and an attempt to give back some advice for all those who gave me some.

Good luck!
