Hi, I''m new here and got a questions, hope you guys can help me out
basically I was looking for a diamond in this range:
0.80-0.85 carats, F color, VS2, EX/VG cutting, GIA cert, no flour... something like this.
When I talked to one of the diamond shop in Toronto, the owner of that shop said it should be in the $4300-$4800 range, depends on the more precise spec of course.... but he also show me some other diamonds, which is something like this:
1.00 carats, G color, SI2, Gemscan cert.
But this diamond is WAY more shinny with more reflection because it has a "Mod. Round Brilliant Cut" according to the Gemscan cert, and the guy said it has 89 facets instead of 57/58, that''s why it has better reflection.... and this one is around $1400 more something like that, depends which of this kind of "modified" cutting diamonds I picked... and he said this is a brand brand new cutting.
I''ve searched around including this forum... I know there are some other 89 facets cutting method out there but I''m not sure if this is the new one. And I wonder if this is worth it? I don''t mind the extra money and get this 1 carat diamond, my only concern is if this kind of cutting, with Gemscan certificate, is good?
I"m sure my wife will like this diamond cuz it''s REAL shinny, the guy put it beside a diamond with excellent cutting, E color with GIA cert, and this one is definitely reflects more light, shinnier.... and colors looks like the same!!!!
Any suggestion/comments are welcome! Thanks in advance!
