The numbers look good to us! Congratulations! How's the plot?

Gearhead, looks like you found a gorgeous stone with KILLER numbers just under the carat mark. If the stone performs as well as the numbers would suggest, I don't see how you could do any better.

Nice work - be sure to post pics and let us know all the details.

Very nice!!!

I've read so much about you and your experiences here on the forum. Your posts have been very helpful. I was just reading about your Hawaii trip and it bring back many memories of the times I spent there.

Regarding the plot/map, I'm going to have to TRUST the vendor on this one. Inclusions are on the table so I'm a bit more concerned at the VS2 level than I would be at the VS1 and higher. As long as there they do NOT become visible under the many lighting conditions one goes through under the normal course of the day we'll be ok.

I have not seen the stone in person, but I've done my homework, researched the vendor, asked countless number of questions, looked at many other diamonds, visited local jewelry shops from the mom and pops to Tiffany's and visted diamond sellers, brokers & wholesaler on the Internet. Should I decide to purchase the stone, I'll be making the ultimate Internet leap of faith. I work in the IT world, live in the Bay Area where Si --> Ag. OK, so we had the .coms what I commonlly refer to as .gones. But I love what modern technology enables, and I also accept some of the unspeakable burdens it fosters. What more can I do?

I guess we'll just have to see what happens (no pun intended)

If the inclusions in the middle are what you are worried about...don't worry, because AGS0 is a strict enough lab and diamonds are graded from the top down. So if the inclusion is in the middle and it's still VS...you are more than fine.

I'm in the BayArea too!

If you get the stone appraised, use Nancy Stacy in Walnut Creek, she was great.

I'll keep Nancy in mind. What did you like about Nancy's service?

She teaches GIA appraisal classes, so she really knows her stuff. She's a bit rough around the edges and blunt, but extremely informative. She has an IdealScope, but I don't know about a Sarin. Her place is amazing, tons of books and tools everywhere. She'll let you stay while she appraises or drop the diamond off and come back for it later.

In reality, she is one of the only independent appraisers in the BayArea, so you don't have too many options, but we were happy with her and appreciated that she was very encouraging when we told her I wanted to take some GIA classes, told me to call her with any questions anytime.
