Hi everyone!

Long time no see.

Since hounding these forums daily in mid-2008, I have gotten married to my wife and we have just been honeymooning ever since (not literally, of course. ;))

Her birthday is this week and I am considering a diamond pendant for her. I am considering around a 0.50 carat diamond in a halo pendant in white gold. My only concern is, of course, price. In order to get the size I want for the pendant, I would have to go down to a G/H/I color and possibly even an SI2 clarity. Are these characteristics OK for a diamond that will be in a pendant? Her engagement ring is an F/VS2, so I don''t want the pendant to fall too far behind.

Thanks all!

I think those specs would be great for a pendant

Those specs are fine for a pendant.

Not only would those specs be great in a pendant, but the would be more than fine for an engagement ring as well (provided the SI is eye-clean). My pendant is J/SI1 and my engagement ring is I/VVS2.

MANY CONGRATS Brilyant and good to see you! I hope the wedding went well!

Yes indeed, those specs are fine for a pendant. Would you like some suggestions of diamonds which might suit? What is the budget?

Thanks, everyone!

Lorelei - the wedding was awesome! It was a ton of fun and everyone had a spectacular time. Going to Maui for our honeymoon was surreal the day after. :)

The budget for the pendant is around $1000-1200, give or take a $100 or so (for the setting and diamond).

She likes this Tiffany's pendant, but in white gold (http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?sku=23954133&mcat=148210&cid=287465&fromGrid=1&search_params=s+5-p+2-c+287465-r+101323351-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+), but I am sure a forum favorite can reproduce it for much less (the Tiffany's one comes with a 0.12 carat diamond for that price! Wow, even though it's in platinum it is still quite pricey.)

Thank you. :)

I am so glad it all went well, it really is great to see you back!!

I had a quick look and I stumbled on this, it could work as it is in budget if eyeclean.

This one is considerably cheaper and we would need to confirm the numbers as the report isn't clear, but it could make a decent pendant diamond as it has shallower proportions, it could be very bright and brilliant.

Wow, thank you for those. I really like the last WF one. I think it''s a nice combination of size, color and clarity. I will have it looked at to see if it''s eye clean.
