How big is the color change between a G and an H in a cushion cut.

Hey!
I dont, IMHO, see one at all in a decent stone size. I think once you get into the 2.0+ carat ranges, and have done your research, you will start to maybe, just maybe, see a difference between h and I......the stone I bought is an I, 1.23 round and you really cannot tell.

good luck!!!

added to this, it depends on the lab grade, and cut quality and size of the diamonds, but generally I wouldn''t have thought the average person would see any difference between G and H.

I''ve never shopped for a cushion cut stone, but I can tell you this, if it helps: I have a tennis bracelet set with round brilliants, and the color grade on the entire bracelet is "G/H." I could not tell you which ones are "G" and which ones are "H" ~ they all look white to me!

That''s right. Whilst, standards of strictness does vary between different laboratories - if the diamonds are well-cut and graded by a reputable laboratory then the difference between G and H face-up in a cushion cut will be indistinguishable for most people when the diamond is set in jewellery. Laboratories grade diamonds when the diamonds are loose and face-up (i.e. with the pointed-side up) rather than face-down which is the way you see the diamond when in jewellery.
