Most people suck. Your SIL does not seem to buck that trend on this issue.


Afterthought: Did you watch Sex & the City? Do you remember the episode about a womans right to shoes? You situation reminded me of the scene where Carrie totted up how much she had spent on her friend ''celebrating her life choices'' when she gave her zip in return.

Funny, this was going through my mind the other day too.

My SIL is a wonderful person and despite her faults I really do like her. I don''t expect gifts in return, or even a Thank You card. But I would like to hear the words Thank You. Or SOMETHING that would suggest that she appreciates the gifts at all!!

I have a BIL and SIL who do this too. They came to all my kids birthdays and ate the food but couldnt be bothered to bring them a coloring book. I hated to explain that to my kids. They would have been happy with anything. Fast forward a few years, they had kids rather late in life and we tried to take the high
road because we love their kids, but when they come over they treat my kids like they are child molestors and wont let them play with them. We even gave
them a car that we had because at one point they were having difficuties and didnt get a thank you. I am with you. I am done. It''s not about the gift, they can
be so cheap. It about when you love someone you take joy in buying them a present, so obviously they dont feel that way about us.

This christmas I forced myself not to buy anything for them and we didnt see them. Takes away alot of stress, and I didn''t feel taken advantage of!

P.S. When my kids were small, you could go to Pic n Save (Now Big lots) and buy a coloring book for .50 cents
