It was made from ranunculus, orchids, callas, berries, weird stuff, some more weird stuff, and ostrich and peacock feathers. I told the florist to go wild and have fun! She kept much of it for a surprise and I just LOVED it.
She made the handle to follow the line of my dress.
Yeah, I loved my florist so much. We had instant rapport. I think the key is to look for a florist with tatoos.
Seriously, though, in my town, this florist has a reputation for doing the most edgy, interesting work, and my friend who''s an industrial designer (the one on the right in the photo I posted) recommended her.
Hey Selkie, the base is wrapped in layers and layers of silver satin ribbon, secured by coloured wire with beads on it. If you look closely in...picture 3? you can see it.
Glad you gals like it. I actually miss it.
I loved it so much. I never expected to be excited about the flowers, but I was SO EXCITED once I got an inkling of what this lady was going to do.
Plus, I''m starting to think that she pretty seriously undercharged me. 5 arrangements (granted, with minimal flowers and maximum feathers... but the labor costs!), a throw bouquet (which I didn''t even ask for), a bouquet, a boutonniere, and 40 wired orchids for around $500? Can that even be?
