@madelise You’re an SLP, if I remember correctly? I do all Early Intervention (75% feeding therapy), and Melanie Potock just posted about a new book she has out. She was eating dinner on her bday to celebrate. I’ve been to a couple of her trainings, and this stack caught my eye! She’s got to be 6 feet tall, more room on that finger to stack taller!

Yes I am, friend!! What state are you in to do feeding tx? NICU age? Here, OT and nurses do feeding (don’t get me started on the encroachment of OUR field or practice.. next thing you know, BCBAs and their ABA interns will do it bc feeding is “behavioral”).

I don’t know who she is but just looked her up. Fabulous person! I work in education (TK-5th) and dabble in private practice with early intervention. I stopped last November after moving and haven’t picked up any per diem gigs yet. Dysphagia was my favorite to work with in grad school, so I hope to get back into it with geriatric population in the nearer future.

Besides, nothing more fun than meeting someone new and saying you’re a Swallowologist.

And yes I agree she must be tall! She has on so many rings yet still has room!!

This isn't really a threadjack, I guess, since it's an integral part of your thread. :)) My daughter, who is 5' 4" tall now that she is fully grown has very long arms and very long fingers. When she was a child she was always the tallest child in her school. Because of the elasticity of her joints and her wide "wingspan" (from fingertip to fingertip with her arms spread out the breadth of her arms was greater than her height) she was tested for Marfan Syndrome. Her fingers make the fingers of the woman pictured look stubby. From that I would say that you cannot definitively say you can tell height from looking at the length of fingers. But her finger size is about a three.
