My husband and I went to visit GOG and Jonathan spent 2 hours (or longer..?!) with us. He is so warm, friendly, and passionate about what he does. He really made me feel comfortable when I asked to see some of his new signature cushions. I felt like a kid in a candy store! We were blown away by them-they are absolutely gorgeous! Jonathan showed me his signature cushions vs. other cushions in his inventory - They''re all beautiful, but his signature cushions have that antique chunkiness that i love.

He was uber patient while I looked at a whole bunch of stones and compared them in all types of lighting. I also got to try the famous diamond dock. Even after all that time he spent with us, he offered to take us to lunch. What a great guy! My husband thought that was super generous of him..I agree.

So.....after looking at the 2.46 ct cushion for a couple of hours, I fell in love with it and couldn''t stop thinking about it after the visit. So I put a deposit on it and it''s going to be set in a 4 prong Stuller Solstice. Marie said I''d get it on Wednesday! I also want to say a big thanks to Marie, Sarah, and Darren for fielding a bunch of questions from me!

I didn''t realize that cushion had a cult following on PS until after the visit. I''ve stayed away from PS for a few months because of the drain it puts on my wallet...

So to Jonathan and the GOG staff, thanks again for a memorable, exciting experience at your store! We have always wanted to visit since we got our engagement ring there and the trip was well worth it!

So you got the 2.46! You have to post pics of the finished ring so we can all live vicariously through your finger.

Oh congrats, I can''t wait to see it.. I adore his chunky cushions...

Sounds like you got a real beauty!!! Thanks for the feedback on GOG. Jon is such a great guy. I have bought from him a couple times, but have never been to his store...

Oh you are the one who got the 2.46!! We saw that one disappear few weeks ago and I wondered who was the lucky one to grab it. I guess it was returned recently or you had it reserved a while ago?
Congratulations you have great Taste!

Drool. Slobber. Blither.

I''m jealous.

yes, it was me! i reserved it, then was trying to figure out what to do for a setting. i will definitely take pictures after i get it.

Hi gummy!

I swear if you didn''t get that it would have found a home on my finger.

Thank you for the kind words and I am honored to have you be a part of my unique creation. Send my best to your DH.

Warm regards,
Jonathan

Sigh! I was seriously considering that stone, but the timing was a little wrong for me. It is such a beautiful piece and many congratulations on your purchase - I hope that you and your husband enjoy it.

Please keep your fingers crossed that GOG gets something similar for me!!

Hi Kweet!

Sorry about that!! But don''t despair, Jonathan even told me if I see something and don''t get it, it''s not the end of the world since there will be more. You can also ask him for certain specs and he should be able to get it in for you. Have you talked with him? I think he''s actually getting more this week... Good luck- and I''m sure whatever you end up with will be gorgeous!

oh I can''t wait to see that...in my next life I want a CUSHION...a huge one...

No need to apologise gummy. I really do hope it works out well for you. I have been in email contact with Sarah who has been unbelievably efficient and helpful.

I am waiting with bated breath for the new inventory of cushions to hit the GOG website - this diamond search is definitely not good for the blood pressure!!

Can''t wait to see your ring on SMTR - any idea as to setting? I''m thinking of Rhino''s Angel setting, so pretty!

Yeah, Sarah is awesome! She sent me pictures of various settings so I could try and figure out what I wanted. I ended up calling and talking to Marie (We also got to meet her, she''s a sweetheart!) and going with the Tapered Solstice without peg head. I''m really excited and can''t wait to see it! They should be setting it today and sending it out tomorrow. I asked for pics so when they send them to me, I''ll upload them here.

Yes, that Angel setting is delicious!! I hope you get it, I LOVE

I wonder when the new stones will be on there, I know there will be lots of beauties to choose from!!
