Hello all,
As a new member of the Ps forums I happen to come across Fred Cuellar''s book and at the time it seemed like valuable information. I even had the opportunity to speak to him on the phone for about 45 mins. While his information seemed useful at first, I came to PS only to realize there was more than meets the eye. After reading all the negative comments I proceeded with much more caution and although I had already had his sister site fullybondeddiamonds look for a diamond for me I kept quiet to see what kind of stone and price I would receive.
So today I received an email with pics of the lab reports, a megascope and some guarantees that the stone is backed by their lifetime warranty. I read the appraisal receipt which was the actual cost I would be charged. Before I quote the price I will provide the specs of the stone:
Round Brilliant 7.38, 7.42 x 4.35 (GIA 16161165)
1.45 Ct
F Color
VVS2
VG Cut, Ex Polish, VG Symmetry
Flouro - Faint
Depth- 58.8%
Table- 59%
Crown- 33
Pav-40.4
Girdle- Thin-Med
Culet- none
I was quoted a little under $19k for this stone and was told that they treated it like a "G" and "VS1" because that was what I requested and were giving me a price break for a VVS2
. Sure enough I went to pricescope and found the exact same stone on James Allen for 14k$. Amazing
I suppose their warranty is worth the 5k premium? I emailed fullybonded back with this info to see what their response is. I wanted to thank everyone on PS for their feedback and insightful comments, it really saved me from making a terrible mistake. I know fullybonded has a bad rap on this site but I wanted to share it with those who may not be aware.
