I have been looking at purchasing a 2 carat diamond from James Allen but just found out that it is cloudy, which wasn't visible on the IdealScope image, which looked great. So I have gone back to the drawing board and I found another diamond that scores a 1.0 (Ex-Ex-Ex-Ex) on the HCA cut advisor. I am a real amateur when it comes to diamonds so I was hoping you guys could share your knowledge and answers some questions I have about this diamond.

What is your overall opinion of this diamond based on the certificate alone - inclusions and cut? I won't be able to get any more information until Monday so this is all I have to go on. Is the med-blue fluor something I should be concerned about? Everyone seems to have their own experiences with fluorescence and I'd love to hear them. Will there be a noticeable difference between this 1.85 carat diamond and the 2 carat mark I was aiming for? Lastly, does this seem like a good price for this diamond? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, I don't know what I would do without PS!

I think it is wise to go down to 1.75+ and get a better quality diamond. I am not in love with the one you just posted. The crown angle is pretty low and table pretty big. It might be okay, but without pictures it would be totally and completely impossible. I wouldn't look at any vendor who doesn't provide pictures and idealscope images. Can they even tell you about the inclusions?

Are there any vendors besides James Allen that provide actual diamond photos? Whiteflash and Brian Gavin carry a lot of virtual inventory, which makes it hard to shop there too. This particular stone is out at a vendor but Yoni said he could work on getting it in by Monday morning, apparently the vendor said it's a good SI1 with no black spots, which is a fairly vague description. What is the difference in light performance with a bigger table vs a smaller table, the HCA says excellent but I'm just wondering how the diamond will differ in overall appearance?

Try whiteflash, BGD, Good Old Gold...
