I just picked up my ering and wring a few days ago bc I had the bands shaved down in the back bc they are too think for me. (remember I posted pics a few weeks ago....) and NOW I looked at it closely and I am 99% sure I have a chipped stone! 3rd one from the end of the channel..(it''s a princess cut).
So my jeweler is out of the office until Wednesday so I ahve to wait until then to show her.

I am so sad, bc I feel like there is always SOMETHING with this ring (and that dates back to pre-PS so it''s not just my brain).....

My question is, can it be fixed by removing the others at the end and sliding in a new one? Or will have have to be totally remade....
I just want to cry, I can''t believe it.

I will try to take some pics but I doubt you can see it, since I don''t have a loupe..

Any advice would be great.

Sophie,

Can you post pictures of the rings now that they''ve been shaved down?

Thanks!

Carrie

Usually this can be repaired by replacing the stone. Hang on until Wednesday and then show it to her and ask.

Neil,
thank you for the reply. Is it possible that whille the band was being shaved down it somehow squeezed the channel and caused them to bump eachother and chip???

I wouldn''t want to second guess someone who can actually see the rings. They should be able to give you a decent speculation about what might have caused the damage as well as make a recommendation on what to do about it. There are quite a few different options.

I respect that. It is just so disheartening bc I always feel like I am doing something to these rings, when really all I want is just to wear them and not have to worry about it or have an ''issue'' with wearing them bc my fingers are too fat...lol

I guess I just have to wait and my mind will just roll until then.
