This is driving me insane... I'm living in France and have great access to antique jewelry shopping. But I haven't seen a single french cut. I've seen calibre cut sapphires and I have seen french cut sapphires being referred to as "saphir calibré". No luck googling either...
Anyone got a clue?
Kipari, how about carré. Antique carré ??
Not to be too nosy, and maybe you said already...are you in N,S,E or W???
Oh shoot, I know we talked about this, but I cannot remember.
Heading over in a couple of weeks, but I don’t think I’m allowed to buy any bling.
I was going to suggest you find one and then ask what is is called. Since that is apparently not an option (since the whole point is you are are looking for one), take a photo or photo into a jeweler's shop and ask him (or her) for the name. I wouldn't know a French cut if I fell over one! Bonne chance!
You’re allowed! Yes. Allowed. Buy bling. ❤

Could you maybe email VCA in Paris on an info email address? You might strike lucky and have your email answered by or forwarded to someone who could help.
