I posted this in SMTR earlier and then realized that it should really be here. I really like the head/basket of one ring (the custom James Allen picture attached) with the shank/band of the Ritani Endless Love (super thin pave). It would be for a 1.75 ct round brilliant.

1. Has anyone ever seen that before?
2. If not, do you think there might be issues with creating it? For example, do you think the head would be too heavy for the band?

I haven''t seen anything too similar, but I''m sure a custom ring could come close. Any issues about durability should be discussed with the maker.

What size center stone?

I think you would be able to have something custom made without much difficulty. I havent'' seen anything exactly like you are describing but I don''t see why it couldn''t be made. The vendor you chose will be able to tell you the appropriate width.

Focalmatic: I actually copied that picture from another thread - the stone in that ring is huge - about 3.5 carats. I''m not sure how much the setting by itself was. She got it custom made by James Allen. It''s so gorgeous, isn''t it??

Rascal: The size of the stone will be about 1.75 carats.

So I guess nobody has seen a similar ring anywhere, huh?

I know which Ritani shank you''re talking about and I think this custom head would look incredible with it. In real life, my ring head and its prongs are *extremely* dainty and light. This picture doesn''t really convey that. In fact, sometimes I think the head might be a little too dainty in comparison to my very thick shank (2.75mm wide and about 2.5mm thick). I really like your idea of putting this head on the Ritani shank...it would be such a delicate look! If you choose James Allen to do this project, you can''t go wrong (tell Jim that you want John Dickinson to do the ring since he did mine and knows all about its design). I had a great experience with them!
