Need crown height and an IS, but it looks promising. Storm will have to comment on the pavilion facets.

that one is a maybe until I see an IS or ASET

also crown height.

Hey, I''m about to return this stone back to JamesAllen, its in your price range. I went with a cheaper stone but I thought this one was very nice and a good price to size ratio. (I was looking for greater than 1ct and less than $4700 range)

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?find=1&cid=130&item=1184732

Crown height was 15.8%. Has a SI1 inclusion right in the middle but honestly I could not see it with my naked eys, and I really tried.

If you search on pricescope you can find the stone Storm was talking about. There is an IS image and a little discussion about it.

Check out this link for the two asschers sub $5k at goodoldgold. Jon was nice enough to put together a little video when I was checking them out.

Hope this helps a little.

crown height = 14.7%

I''m still waiting on an IS image

here is the IS for the above diamond
that is a tough one to call.
some partial leakage center but lots of red around it.

Ask someone to look at in person and discuss it with you.
ask about center brightness and how even the center looks to the eye.

the IS
first one is better

Hey storm,
Minor thread jack but I think we all could learn from your reply. In the first picture posted in this thread the windmills
in the assher do not look linear to me. They look like they start out at one angle then they change after a little bit
and continue at a different angle. I hope this is making sense. Anyway, I was wondering what causes that and
is it ok or less desirable or what? I was noticing on the second assher pictured the lines on the windmill look to be
linear. This is much more appealing to me. Can you explain what is causing the line change? Is it a bigger (or
smaller) stepped angle on the bottom?

Thanks
tyty

How the windmill facets are cut makes for the different shape.
In most cases I like the even tapering better if everything else is the same.
Rarely is everything the same however.

Storm,

I agree the first one looks better....but what do you think of the second one....There''s about a 1.5k difference between the two diamonds

Thanks

thin windmills and the center looks lopsided with lots of leakage that will be noticed by the owner but not likely by strangers.

I guess I''ll keep looking..

If anyone has any suggestions for an asscher in the 5-6.5K range ...please let me know

Got it! That makes total sense.
Thanks storm

BTW- I was not questioning why you liked diamond 1 better than diamond 2 - I was just wondering what was causing the
change in angles.
