Ok so I was browsing GOG & found this. I think its the diamond in the video on the page: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond.php?d=5911&shape=8192&ctMin=1&ctMax=2&resultsColumns=268435471&singleResult=1

Shape: Emerald
Carat Weight: 1.57ct
Color: K
Clarity: SI1
Optical Symmetry: Traditional
In House: Yes
Width: 6.06mm
Length: 7.89mm
Depth: 3.76mm
Table Percentage: 87.15%
Depth Percentage: 62.12%
Crown ∠: 34.50°
Pavilion ∠: 40.75°

Price: $4,140

If thats the case- it looks gorgeous!! But I''m concerned about the K color bc I know emerald cuts don''t hide a lot.

I''ll be honest. Besides knowing it would be too warm for me personally, after watching the video, I''m just not loving it. I think you could find ones that performed a bit better. But that''s just my .02.

Thanks!!!

Found this too: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/5185/
I'm not the Asscher expert, strm is. Though I do know what I like when looking. I'm not positive, but I think the stone I'm going to link you has that I in it with the one that I picked, in a comparison video. Though both are pretty, I personally prefer one over the other. See what you think. (and you can always ask GOG if that I is in fact the same one, I'm thinking yes though) The G does face up noticeably smaller though.

If you are really wanting an Asshcer, I've actually seen prettier than both of these with GOG, you could always have strm help you, and have one or two called in if need be. Not sure what all your budget will allow.

Ditto and as Ellen says storm can help you if you are seriously looking to buy.

Thanks so much guys!!! What great suggestions!! I''m kinda stuck trying to decide between an asscher & an emerald.... hmmmm I definitely need to decide before I start my serious inquiries. Kinda leaning more towards the emeralds.

I would definitely try and get out to see as many of both as you can to compare. The problem is, most jewelers don''t carry that well cut on either, so it may be a bit tricky. But overall, you can probably get a good idea. I''d suggest actually buying it online, with a vendor who does ASET photos, as you will get a better picture (no pun intended!) of the cut that way, and most likely end up with a better stone for less.

And you''re welcome!

Ya know, I did notice that they never had a decent selection of asschers & emeralds when I went to the stores to see them in person. Can anyone recommend a vendor who does ASET photos? I''m just beginning my diamond education, so I appreciate the advice & suggestions!

You guys are great!! Thanks again!!

Not surprised.

Vendors who do ASET are:

Goodoldgold

Whiteflash

Brian Gavin Diamonds

High Performance Diamonds

I think I'm missing one or two, someone else may chime in with them. These are all very reputable companies too.
