Hi hk,

I''m not familiar with that site. Looking at this diamond, I see the following.

It''s slightly out of round. (not desirable, and can be an indication of how well, or not it''s cut)

It is facing up smaller than it should, due to depth, and possibly girdle.

With the angles it has, I''d want an Idealscope picture of it. Not sure if you could get one.

But to be honest, I think you can do better.

If you would like help finding a better stone, I''d love to help. You''d need to list how low in color/clarity you''re willing to go.

Hi Ellen,

Thanks for the input. I''m not sure what "out of round means" or it is facing up smaller than it should, due to depth, and possibly girdle.

Kinda of newbie at this....

I was also told the following from the dealer the following:

I just checked the 2.13 CT on the Diamond Dealers Club Laser/ Computer and it got six 0''s. On every item on the AGS scale, making it a super Ideal Cut.

thanks,

HK

Ok, sorry!

Out of round means, in simplest terms, it''s not perfectly round. Which is what you want a round diamond to be.

The first two numbers give you the diameter (8.15x8.27) Ideally, you want those two numbers as close as possible (on a rare occassion, they will be the same). But no more than .10 apart. And as I mentioned, the closer they are, or aren''t helps indicate how tightly it''s cut. You want a tight cut stone.

Facing up means how big it looks for it''s ct. weight. It''s "looking" like a 2 ct. So you''re paying for something and not getting the benefit of it. (weight)

I have never heard of that laser/computer thing, but this is not a super ideal cut.
