Hi, it's been a while! Glad to see all the familiar names again!!!

In case anyone here loves both diamonds AND classic cards, is there a forum where prosumers help newbies with their classic car purchases?

I'm hoping to buy a classic VW beetle (think two tone cream and sky blue, with a teak & chrome roof rack). Unfortunately I really have no idea where to begin with, you know, assessing the actual mechanics of the car.

This forum was SO helpful when I began my diamond journey (5 years ago now - gasp!), I'd love if something similar existed for classic cars LOL. If all works out, I promise to come come back with bling/car pictures!!

You can probably find a subReddit for that. Literally every topic under the sun exists on Reddit!

Not sure about VW, but Chevys have TriFive as an awesome forum.

Yeah but it's all men so it probably sucks. Not really joking.

My trouble-prone but fun car requires me to hop onto user forums not infrequently. I never linger and I almost never browse beyond my specific issue. Lotta chest-bumpin' hyperbole and misspellin' :cool2:

But maybe the true classic car set is a little more chill and, uh, evidence-based.

Sounds like some of the meat smoking forums. Lol
OP, good luck! My husband is looking for a vintage Bronco but we are getting priced out. We had one in the late 80’s and sold it.
In the meantime, we picked up a 1968 F-100 pickup. 5E79C4AB-6B98-4A1E-B170-AB42ECEB9CEE.jpeg

Turns out there is a VW specific forum called www.thesamba.com

From which I learned how much it would cost to repaint a classic Beetle. I might be better off sticking to diamonds... LOL

Discord may be a good place to look, you will find some car YouTube channels will have their own Discord and you can get some great advice from enthusiasts in the chat rooms. But I would so what @monarch64 suggests and look at Reddit first, so many good sub-reddits for so many topics!

I always forget about discord! Good idea

Try to find a forum specific to the make/model that you are looking for. Once you do, look for a buying guide thread that will tell you what to look for and look out for. Make sure to post pics of your new ride once you get it, because there’s a few gearheads on this forum 8-)

Beautiful! You both have excellent taste!
