for all of you who celebrate Xmas: We just booked a weekend in New Hampshire (http://www.polarexpress.org/). The tix are for a ride on the polar express that takes you to the North Pole. You're greeted by 100s of elves with lanterns that lead you up to Santa's castle...where Santa is waiting for you and will read "The Polar Express" to the families. He will also give each dc a BELL. The ride on the train comes with hot cocoa and cookies. This is EXACTLY like the movie. My sister went last yr and said it was mind blowing. The money raised from this goes to the New Hampshire literacy foundation! I thought I'd share this with those who may be interested in a North Pole, magical weekend! :appl:

I'm 42 yrs old and I think I'm more excited than my children :D

Pot's legal in New Hampshire?

Kenny I'm home with 2 sick kids, so I have no clue what you're talking about. I'm exhausted and need sleep. Please
share the funny with me! Did I make a typo? I can't tell..I'm too tired

Sounds like a magical time!!!

oh I think it will be! When we told my kids we were going..they were screaming OMG OMG OMG. That was worth it all!

This sounds like so much fun!! I think Kenny was just making a joke about the whole make-believe world of Polar Express being brought to life... Sounds like a head trip.

That's what the thread said when you hovered over it!!! I was going to nominate the thread for the most random title ever.

Am I going crazy?

Lol! when you hover over the title on hangout, the content says Kenny's quote!

ahhhh thanks so much for clarifying that. I used to be fast on the uptake but lately (with 3 kids home all summer) I'm barely talking :errrr:

really? Where? I didn't notice anything. Hmmmm

So to take that hovering , and to add that to a thread about Santa Clause and the wonderful experience she is giving her children??

How about using your filters ....

Not what this thread is about.. ::)

What a terrific memory you're helping to create! The Polar Express is one of my favorite books of all time & I flip through my copy every holiday season  It's such a great story about magic and innocence and holiday spirit, and I think it's awesome that they're trying to recreate the story for all attendees. Extra points for proceeds going toward a good cause.

Please let us know how it goes & how your kids reacted! (I'll be sure to bump this thread in December as a reminder ::) )

Oh wow!!! I'm so looking into this, my daughter would love it! Thanks!

You're welcome Nashville. I wanted to spread the word because I had never heard of this until my sister found out from a friend.

yes I'm excited to see their faces. It will be a great experience and I love how the proceeds go to a good cause!

You'll love it here Atroop! It's a beautiful state, and each of the seasons has something to offer. The White Mountains area is gorgeous, and I know you'll have fun at the Polar Express. If you can steal a few minutes away and you like shopping, you might want to check out the outlets in North Conway.

Oh thank you so much Zoe..our hotel is in North Conway so good to know I will be able to hit the stores!! I have heard many times that this area is gorgeous. I can't wait to go..I've never been to your state before. It's an almost 7 hr drive for me from NYC (I hear) so I'm going to break it up by stopping in Boston at a friends. Thx again

My cousin worked on the motion capture for the movie.
Great film.

We have something similar to that in Colorado, DH and I are thinking of taking our 5 year old nephew this year :)

Has anyone been to this? Heard it's wonderful. I hope they don't get scared, they are 8 and 6.

Yes the PJ thing is fun! I told my husband that we all have to wear PJs. My daughters want to get matching PJs but I'm not
sure we would go that far. Just lots of layering under the PJs
