For those who love ABBA

Does anyone remember a videoclip of their song, "The day before you came?". I think it is their best videoclip. If anyone remembers it or has a DVD of ABBA at home - what stone is in Agneta''s ring? (in the scene at an airport, you see it momentarily). I think it is a ruby, and a good one.

Sorry - had to ask this questions. Had no other way of sharing my love of ABBA.

OMG I am a huge FAN.

Thanks for the YT links. Brings back so many memories...I was living in Sweden the year that Abba won the European Songfest. The night of the win, I was in Stockholm in a bar. GUESS WHO walked in!! ABBA!

No, I have no autograph. Didn''t speak to them. At the time I didn''t know who they were, really, and someone had to explain it to me.

But that counts, doesn''t it, Crasru?

It counts. It was OK not to approach them because, as I have read, Agneta was very shy.
I love their lyrics, too. "It''s a dream, it''s out of reach, scattered driftwood on the beach". Isn''t it wonderful?

I''m the hugest ABBA fan ever!! I was really upset at how bad the Mamma Mia film was (bad bad singing). Ugh!

Totally agree. The movie (and the musical, for that matter) are, frankly, shallow. But I have several CDs with Abba''s clips - wonderful songs, and they were so artistic, too. I read that they wanted to get together but Agneta refused to. They could not do it without her because she had the best voice, of course.

My eldest brother is a crazy ABBA fan! I was brought up listening to them. I barely rememeber them wining in 1974, but have heard about it ever since. LOL

My funny ABBA story goes back to 1977 (I think, corrections welcome!

) when I was 7. It was Easter Sunday and it was the British release of ABBA the movie.

Stephen my brother had promised to take me (read "made me go") on the opening night.

Our local cinema, at that time ,was a really old fashioned one, with a old style foyer, one big screen, two tiers, usherettes, a cigarette seller. It closed when I was 11 so my memory of it is a very nostalgic magical childlike one.

Anyway, say the start time was 5 pm, Stephen insisted we leave early because and I quote "the queues will be immense!"
So of we trot at 3 pm to the cinema and yes we were the only ones there. Another hour passes and yes, we were still the only ones there. Eventually, at about 10 minutes to 5 another few people show up. You would be lucky if there was in excess of 20 people there. Stephen recalls slightly more people than I do, whatever. We went in took our choice of seats and watch, what to me at the time was a very disturbing movie.

Stephen is in a state of what can only be described as ABBAmania. We start our walk home and he talks excitedly about what we have just witnesses. I hardly say a word. (which even then was a very strong signal that all is not well). Eventually he twigs something is not right. He asks me what is wrong.

My reply " you mean its not just the 4 of them? They have a band?"

That was the end of my ABBA love affair. In my book they cheated!! LOL

Flame away, you crazy ABBA people. I was 7!!!
