For the small dog lovers-especially Chihuahuas! Puppy pics!

My mom got two Chihuahua puppies in June. We had a bit of a rough patch when I first got home, since she hadn't potty-trained them, etc. but since I've been here, we've started crate-training, and things are going great (well except the boy, Coco, tends to have accidents in the kitchen if we leave him unattended for too long - and he has the smallest bladder ever. The girl, Kola, is awesome and has never misbehaved since we started crate-training). Anyway, I thought it was long overdue for some pics and today was a beautiful day. They had so much fun playing outside (and I had so much fun taking pics with my DSLR, after using my iPhone for the last few weeks!). So here they are - there are a TON of pics.

Running around - Coco is the boy, and he's the black and white puppy. Kola is the girl (black and brown) and she's his younger (by two weeks) half-sibling. She's definitely the dominant one though - go girl


Coco started barking a few days into his arrival here, but Kola has yet to - I hope nothing's wrong (she is shy of 6 mos. though)

The little boy Coco - I love that one of his ears hasn't flipped upright yet - it makes me look like a furry cute little pirate!


The little girl Kola - her head and body are longer and more streamlined than Coco's (Coco has the classic apple-domed head)

Puppy love!!! They are longhairs, but they look suprising like the shorthairs in their expressions. Are these the 2 that needed crate training and were facing eviction? They look so full of joy! Good for you!

Thanks Lyra! These are the two that needed crate training. Kola, the girl, is soooo good and smart. She hasn't misbehaved once since we started crating them. The boy, Coco, though...well he needs some more practice. He just misbehaved today - literally he has a tiny bladder and we can't take our eye off him for more than two minutes. So ... months more of potty training ahead I think! But they are adorable little guys and we love them. You're right - they look very much like shorthairs in their expressions!

Thanks Thing! They are SO energetic! They were tearing around the backyard the entire time I was taking pics (I also forgot to put a zoom lens on so I was chasing after them the entire time!)

Aww thank you! We had one Chihuahua before - more family than pet - and we fell in love with the breed after him (and miss him so much). These guys are just as adorable and loving though - we're glad they're here!

What a CUTIE! He? She? looks a LOT like Kola's mom in face and color!

Stitch is a boy. When we got him from the shelter, he was listed as a "Tibetan spaniel mix." But, his ears stick out kinda like Papillon (with the feathering), he has Chihuahua attitude at times, but at 15 lbs (should be 14.5) he's way big to be either. So, we're kinda at a loss of what he really is.

How big is Kola? The picture of the dogs playing is really cute!

He does have Papillon ears I love them! He's definitely a big boy compared to our pups - although I think both Coco and Kola will be on the bigger end for Chihuahuas - no teacups for us! Kola is around 8 lbs now and Coco is 6.5 (and they're only 6 mos. old!).

Thank you! Haha yes, I did that on purpose. My mom wanted to name one dog Cocoa (our first dog was Cocoa) and I suggested the spelling change and naming the second dog Kola to go with it. Now she just calls out "Coco Kola" and they both come running!
