I never never answer our door if I don't know who it is and am not expecting anyone.
Friends/neighbors know this, so they call first.

IMO this is less on an introvert thing and just a DUH thing.
There's zero chance I want whateverTF they are here for.
They want to sell me something, probably religion. BARF!

I don’t answer my door either-even for the ups man. I run inside my closet where I can see my cameras, wait till they leave and then go get my package. And I really don’t want to socialize with the neighbors. We live in a neighborhood where they want to stand outside and talk to each other, and have parties together. LOL. Nope not going to do it.

In all seriousness, do you feel like constantly stressed that they're going to invite you to a gazillion gatherings or try to involve you in daily chats?

Sometimes, I do. We have a bunch of new neighbors too, and they are really nice people, I just don’t want to socialize with them. I wave when I see them. My next door neighbors on one side are complete nightmares and if there is a chance that they would be there-I would avoid it at all costs just for that. Can’t we just be friendly without all the interaction?

Right. Totally agree with you.

For me, my favorite are neighbors that say hello very warmly and smile, and might maybe say a little something once in a while. Make a comment on the weather, tell me I look nice (LOL just kidding), wish me happy holidays. That's what I do and it's what I would prefer done to me.

I have one lady neighbor who very visibly goes out of their way to NOT say hello. You'd think we stop her to chat her up something, or we go to her house and knock on her door, which we certainly don't. Obviously we've annoyed her in some way though.

That I find unnecessary. Smile, wave, keep walking. Not too hard. Not too much to ask.
