Follow-up to earlier post: found a compromise that allows me to set it now.

Since I didn''t want to compromise on the diamond itself...

I decided to go with white gold rather than the platinum that I was originally thinking of (a three prong setting inspired by Slammie''s with attached chain). Big $$$ saver and since it''s a necklace and not a ring, I think I will be satisfied with the WG.

Thanks to everyone who provided guidance. I can''t wait to check it out.
