Really random question that popped into my mind as i was reading some posts today.

1) If I were to get a ring with a very strong fluorescent center stone, do you think any jewellers would be willing to create an eternity band made of solely very fluorescent stones?

2) Would this be ridiculously expensive?

3) Would it be ridiculous to buy a couple of smaller fluorescent diamonds and ask that they be recut into eternity band sized pieces?

I am thinking just ask the jeweler. Entire batch of melee stones, there are bound to be a few strong fluorescent, not that hard the screen through with a UV light. Maybe it will take time to get enough but I think should be doable.

Managing to get sufficient numbers of strong-very strong stones within one or two colour grades and within a few percent weight, with very good or better cut grades could be a challenge. I would think that grading fluorescence in small stones is more difficult and the cost of the lab report would be more than the value of the stone.
If you're lucky, the jeweller might have the patience to sift through their stock of small stones with a UV lamp, but the degree of fluor would be their subjective opinion.

The jeweller might want you to pay extra for their time and effort (or having to dismount and remount stones), but the stones themselves will not be drastically different in price.

I'm not sure that stones below 1/4 ct would show much fluor in normal conditions because of their small size - a bit like smaller J or lower colour diamonds looking less tinted than larger ones of the same caolour grade.
