Hi, I find this site informational...I am looking for the experts to respond if possible. I have a diamond and I really like the look of it, however I was using my black light and noticed that it had one particular area that was more fluorescent than the others. Why would it do this?

Bump...

Gosh, I''ve never seen that before. How interesting! Hopefully one of the experts will chime in! I''d like to hear too. Has your diamond been fracture filled or anything like that?

can you post the grading report please?
It may not be the diamond at all but the IR/UV filters/coatings in the camera.
Which is why pictures should never be used to judge florescence.

That said I have seen clouds that showed up like that under uv light that were almost invisible at 10x with anything but dark field lighting.

Many diamonds do contain patchy rather than overall UV reactive areas. You photo of the diamond is a good example of this property, most likely.

Thank you oldminer...I appreciate the help. It is a good looking stone in person...so I hope no one whips out a black light! HA HA HA!
