I have read here that fluorescence in lower color diamonds can make the stone look whiter. Would this whiter look only show from the top view or would it also show from the size view?
In theory at least, if the fluorescence is blue, uniformly distributed and affects the body color of the stone, it should show relatively whiter from any angle. I say relatively because a stone's body color is more visible from the side or upside down than it is face up...that's one of the many reasons why faceting was developed...to mask color. Among the other reasons - to render inclusions less visible.
