my diamond journey...
i ordered one stone from bn, didn''t really like how it peformed and returned it. have always liked the idea of fluorescence (i like things that are different!), and after reading experiences here it sounded okay to try one - in this case w/ strong blue fluorescence.
just received:
.68ct - h si1
table: 57
depth: 61.5
crown: 34.5
pav: 40.8
i''m at work so just doing a quick look - but this thing in the elevator is amazing!
halogen/track lighting, hehehe
so i''ve taken it outside a couple of times (bright southern cal sun) and even then the sparkles are pretty amazing - maybe more to do with the cut of the stone than the fluor - but my question: i am looking for any hint of ''milky'' in it, and when i look directly in the face of the stone it seems clear, but tilting my head a little off the axis left/right seems to cause a little... i don''t know, it''s either milky, or it''s just the angle and i''m catching a little flatness/reflection off the table. does that make any sense, what i''m saying? just wondering, would i see the milkiness all over in the diamond, so it would be very noticeable both looking directly into the table and at angles, or can it show itself just when looking in at an angle... again, am i making any sense?
even in direct sun, the sparkles off the thing are wild - very strong. again, maybe more the cut than anything. when i will get home i''ll whip out my IS and see what it looks like there.
i''m just afraid of the whole ''milky in direct sunlight'' thing since this is a strong fluor.
it has a gia cert, strong blue fluor - and the only clarity characteristic it has listed is ''crystal''.
thanks!
