Alright so here is my problem. I have searched for weeks now and I found something that looks good and I see that there may be two problems. The first is the Fluorescence which is strong blue: which I read some people like but I don''t know about. The second is that the gia report says "pinpoints are not shown": Now I don''t think that the pinpoints should be a problem since it is a VS1 but I thought I would throw that out there to see what people thought. Here are the overall stats:

Shape: Round
Cut: Select Idealâ„¢
Carat: 0.93
Color: D
Clarity: VS1
Measurements: 6.32-6.27-3.84
Depth Percentage: 61 %
Table Percentage: 58 %
Girdle: M-STK
Culet: None (Pointed)
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: Strong

the crown is 33.5 degrees
the pavillion is 40.8 degrees

So what does everyone think?

this is how it scores. you can do it to w/this https://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp
Factor Grade
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1 - Excellent
within TIC range

I think strong fluorescense will make it look blue; ask the vendor what it looks like. I actually had a diamond w/fluorescense and people kept asking me why it was blue and it bothered me. I am curious what others think. If it was an I or J colored stone it would help it look white. Why do you want a D? Just my 2 cents.

I wasn''t necessarily going for a D that is just what it was and I thought that it would be nice.

Oh, okay. Do you mind it looking a little blue and it may look milky; find out what the Fluorescence does to the stone according to the vendor. I actually owned one so that I what I think. I should go pull the AGS cert to see how strong it was. Going to go look now.

ETA: It is a AGS cert that said Fuorescense Inert. I might start my own thread; now I have a question.

Generally if the report says "pinpoints not shown" or "additional clouds not shown" or some such, it means that the inclusions are there, but they are not important enough to impact the clarity grade of the diamond. The reason that the grading laboratory puts that on the report is so that the person appraising your diamond knows that they may see some inclusions other than those specifically illustrated on the report. Thus, they''ll know that the report is not fraudulent and that the diamond they''re looking at is the one on the report, not some other diamond.

2 thanks: First thanks for the questioning of fluorescence on another page they helped to.

Secondly thank you for the explanation for why they keep saying things aren''t shown, I have seen that a few times and I thought it was a bigger problem.

You will most likely see something under comments, more often than not.

My understanding is that comments like ''pinpoints not shown'' or ''additional clouds not shown'' are there for posterity - they''re inconsequential features and do not affect the grade.

I bought a ring with strong blue fluorescence with H color (it''s an ideal cut and scores 1.4 on HCA). It''s the most incredible thing to see in the sun with a SLIGHT blue glow with huge flashes of green, yellow, red. Outside of bright sunlight, you''d never know it was fluorescent.

I say take advantage of the market''s unfounded fear of ''milky'' diamonds!

Here''s some pics (with a couple of shots using a black light):
