I''m looking at having a white gold bezel diamond pendant made for my 21st birthday (Which I''m VERY excited about

). My bugdet will likely be limited and I want the most rock for my buck. I''ve been looking at ideal cut, eye clean RB stones around the 40pt range and most of these I could probably afford seam to be around the J colour range with differing degrees of fluor.

My question is, what would you choose if all other factors but the fluor was the same:
A J stone with no fluor which might look abit warm in white gold
A J stone with med blue fluro which may make the stone look a bit whiter if I''m lucky
A J stone with strong blue fluro

I will be buying the stone sight unseen so what is the best bet for the nicest looking stone? Will they even look that different to each other? Or would you just go for a smaller stone in a higher colour?

Any and all suggestions or help would be greatly appriciated! (And if anyone has a bezel pendent this size or smaller I''d love to see!)

I'd take a J no flouro IDEAL from BGD or Whiteflash ACA anyday. It faces up white, the body color will look a tinge warm. but your bezeling it and your not staring from the side. I have a J color .31 carat BGD bezel in yellow gold in earrings. and Let me find KTIceRn J's bezel earrings which should be similar but in white gold similar to your project except yours will be a pendant. be right back with photo

ETA: here is her link https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/brian-gavin-diamond-bezel-earrings.111585/ all i see is white to me in the photo.

Those are J colour? Wow, they don''t look warm to me at all, they''re lovely. I guess once they''re in your ears there''s zero chance of anyone noticing the warmth anyway, same with a pendent, I can''t imagine anyone wanting to get THAT close. I don''t think I''d be too worried about a slight warmness but a visable yellow twinge would bug me.

Because I''m in New Zealand I have been looking to buy the diamond online from the US and get the pendent made here (which will make the import duty tax much less and I''ve not found a stock setting that''s quite right either). Would WF or BGD ship to New Zealand? I''ve been looking at BN because they have a NZ website which means I need not worry about the exchange rate when looking for a stone.

hmm, I dont see why not, but drop Lesley or WF a line. I think you''ll be amazed with the diamonds from either places. Have you checked Stuller.com or Adwar.com on bezel semi mount? although the setting size and the diamond dimension has to be pretty right on for those ready made settings.

Checked those two sites out and can''t find exactly what I want but I can''t imagine it being particularly difficult for a local jewler to make for me. I will be making the rounds asking for quotes when I have a better idea of my budget.

I''m most concerned about finding the right stone at the right price. Diamonds are WAY overpriced here, I''d probably be looking at paying a couple of grand for a stone I could order from the US for $800.

Assuming the cut was equal and excellent on each, I would probably go for strong blue fluorescence.

I just ordered studs from BGD and asked Brian just for the biggest BGD Signature stones he could get me for my budget (gave him my budget for the whole project including the settings) as I want to maximize size and will not compromise on cut. I told him I'd be thrilled with eye clean K's with Strong Blue, or anything else he picks. When I called to talk to him about it, he told me he's going on a buying trip next month to Europe, so he'd pick me up anything I wanted. Can't beat that.

Highly recommend you do something similar. Just call up the vendor you want to work with, tell them you want the most bang for the buck and see what they come up with.

I can't tell you how many bezeled J's and K's from Infinity and Brian I've seen in white metal. Ya can't tell. Seriously. I wear an F step cut, and the person I was with had BLINDENING G-H 30 pointers in the five stone on her hand (they were so beautiful... so so beautiful... I want a 5 stone with 30 ponters now, thank you) ... you just can't tell when the stone is an ideal performer and at that size.

Just ask for the most beautiful ideal AGS0 they can get you, and tell them to maximize the size.

Heck, Brian told me Lesley herself wears an I for HER pendant, and you KNOW she can have whatever color she wants and she sees diamonds all day long! You're gonna love it, and Happy Birthday!

Personal preference. I would go strong or very strong too, just because I like them.

Also with strong or very strong blue it is very important to check that this isn''t making the diamond look cloudy in some lights, this is rare but always needs checking.

That and I''m really excited about this pendant (it''s driving BF crazy)!

I had been looking for a nice afordable stone on BN to have set locally when I came across the dlightful clause which said they won''t ship to NZ unless the total purchase was over NZD$975 ,which is more then I want to pay for such a little diamond

I think I''ll contact WF and BGD when I get a final budget and work from there, it just seems like so much more of a mission seeing as I''m so much further away......it would be great and so much easyer if someone had the stock setting I want!

New Question: Has anyone seen/have the WF stock bezel pendant? is the chain attached to the bezel or does the bezel slide on the chain. I''m looking for one which slides on the chain - theres no point having a pretty diamond necklace if it''s going to end up covered by hair 1/2 the time!

Thanks for your advice
