Florentine finish jewelry

Hi all. Some advice please. My mother has a few pieces of 70's re florentine finish jewelry. Namely a ring and a cuff bracelet. They are actually heavy high quality jewelry but that finish is so passé. I was wondering if a competent jeweler could polish the Florentines finish off and make them matte instead? Any thoughts?

That should be no problem, these finishes don't go deep into the metal.

This actually happened to my husbands wedding band. I was having the prongs checked on my ring when they offered a to clean his. Well they decided to polish it too. Ya it took some of the finish off too. I don't think you should have a problem.
