Flip Phones Are In!

A few days ago someone mentioned a flip phone on television. I was surprised. No one but me has a flip phone. One of my daughter's boyfriends said that he had the same phone I have now when he was in middle school. (I probably had the same phone I have now when he was in middle school). Now I see that the flip phone appears to be coming back! Has anyone here been tempted to buy one?

The article below suggests that some people are turning to them in an effort to simplify their lives in a way they cannot if they carry smart phones.

I used to have a pink Razor flip phone. It was probably my favourite, but I couldn't text with it. I use my phone for texting only. Flip phones took up more space too. Since I usually only carry a wristlet now, a flip phone wouldn't really fit very well. Not that I remember to ever take my phone with me!

ha I still have all my old phone's including the one from 1998!!! it was hugh....yeah I still use my old phone's alarm, it is a phone with the slide out keyboard...I have only had a I phone since last October...took me awhile to join in those modern things lol

I could use a flip phone again lolol. If I fail to promptly lock the screen on my touch screen phone, my cats have been known to walk on the phone and call or Video chat someone. My favorite was the time I realized my cat was sitting ON the phone and had LITERALLY butt dialed someone!

I use the flip phone I bought 10 years ago when my daughter entered 7th grade; it still meets my needs. My husband is dissatisfied with the camera on his flip phone so he's starting to think of getting a smartphone.

I use to have a razor red flip phone, I loved it! But with 2 kids in high school, and 2 in college, if I didn't have a phone I could text on easily, I think it would seriously cut down on their communication with me! 95% of their communication with me when they are not home is by texting.

I couldn’t go back to a flip phone. I have a job where I’m expected to check emails afterhours, and more importantly I love the camera on my iPhone.

If I was forced I could go back to a flip phone. I just dislike it. I'm super spoiled by my smart phone now lol. But I had been texting on flip and the old bar phones for years before i ever got a smart phone lol. It felt like most of the people I knew had a smart phone years before I got mine and I didn't get one until EVO came out. Then I wore that phone out before switching to the galaxy family which is probably where I will stay with phones xD

Lol @PintoBean I love the duck bell. I decorated my razr with bling too! Those were the good old days. Now I don't even have a phone case I like. I just don't bother.

I would love to go back to a flip phone. I feel like smart phones are so distracting. You can do so much on one it can take up such a lot of your time.

This was my all time favourite phone.

I actually only ever had 1 flip phone. It was alright, but I switched over to a blackberry shortly after and had them for years. Pretty much up until I started my most recent job and had an iPhone as a work phone. My berry later died and I got a personal android. So I've been away from the flip phone for a verrrry long time lol.

ohh I couldn't go back to a flip phone! lol I use my phone to navigate, text and ask it questions all day. I don't have games or social media (except facebook to keep in touch with my nieces and nephews). But the camera and google are two things I constantly use on there. I'm currently on vacation in Barcelona and my first day here we had to take the subway because the cabs are on strike. Some creep stole my phone as I was getting off the last stop with my kids . I miss my phone and reach for it constantly all day. So perhaps 3 weeks without my phone will cure me of this addiction, maybe I will want a flip phone at the end of this vacation.:roll
