Flashy diamond

I want a round brilliant diamond that is about 1.5 to 2.0 carats, bright and flashy and loud. The trouble is I have only the specifications and images of on-line stores. What do I look for in these images and specifications that will tell me which diamonds are brightest and flashiest???

You can use the HCA tool to narrow down stones worth a further look... Look for stones that score 2 or under.

Or you could stick with an AGS000 stone that has already been graded ideal for light return. Or, you could stick with a branded
stone like Whiteflash's ACA or BGD diamonds.

What is your budget? That may dictate whether you can get a branded stone or not.
www.jamesallen.com is another good place to search for stones but you have to use the hca tool.

You can start by using the Pricescope search engine. (Look for stones that score 2 or under on the HCA score. These are worth a
further look.)

The budget is between $10,000 and $16,000 but if there is a" knock your socks off" diamond it could go higher. The thing is I'd like to be able to know what to look for on my own in the images and angels and percentages and measurements, past the standard 3C's. I know a professional who is looking at the actual diamond can find a good one. I need and want to know how I identify a good one without seeing the actual diamond.

Definitely look at the ASET imaging. That will tell you if it is well cut or not.

TyTy shared good advice. Shop for diamonds within these specifications and make sure the score is less than 2.0 HCA. This weeds out the duds but is only a selection tool. You'll then need to study the Idealscope image of the diamond to make the final call.

Are you not sticking with Wink for an upgraded Crafted by Infinity diamond? The CBI's should be bright, flashy and loud enough for anyone.

I am sticking with Wink and expecting great things.

But, I am not satisfied simply having a pretty diamond. I'm curious about what makes one diamond better than another how that shows up on images. How do I look at descriptions and images and pick out what is really good without having to rely on a dealer. And even among CBI or any of the other name brands there are good diamonds and great diamonds.


A post above mentioned that ASET images were useful. I have heard that many times. What I have not heard is what exactly I should be looking for in those images. What is it other people, knowledgable people, look for in ASET images. What does the ASET image of a really great diamond look like? I've read several informational articles about ASET images and they tell what the colors represent but nobody describes how the color placement should be interpreted.

I guess when I read your post it makes me wonder, what do you mean by flashy? White light return? Colored light return? Small pin points if disco like sparkle or large broad flashes.

Somehow I wonder if an august vintage round or victor camera antique round might be more up your ally with the small tables and large facets.

To your point about how to interpret asets, and what makes a good diamond, read read read. There is a knowledge section of ps as well as years worth of posts details many aspects of picking out a diamond. Start digging.
