HI PSers
I am having a five stone made after the holidays. It is marking two special occasions for me: my 50th b-day in June and the five year anniversary of starting my business. I originally wanted to get an asscher eternity for the big 5-0 but have obsessively drooled over the five stone ring thread since finding PS and completely fell head-over-heels in major love with my 1.00 ctw studs from BGD.
So MRBs it is, for this ring. I guarantee I'll still do an asscher project, perhaps next year
I promised DH no more major jewelry purchases until next December.
The lovely Ajldewey was selling her .68 ctw WF ACA studs. AGS0 I VS2 .34ct each so I bought them, realizing the price per diamond was much lower than current market price. Then I was playing around on JA looking at matching diamonds and came across two AGS0 True Hearts stones with the same specs as my other recent purchase. They were priced exceptionally low, as in a $240 savings per stone!
I called on them right away and there was a bit of confusion, but the rep hunted them down and found out they were a recent buy-back & got them approved to sell to me at the much lower price
So with-in two weeks time I have collected four of my five stone diamonds, all I VS2 ASG0, three are .34ct and one is .33ct.
Very happy with my diamond hunting skills on this project!
Here is where I would like opinions, please. I think I will end up going with BGD for my setting and have the ring made in platinum.
I can not, for the life of me decide which setting to go with! I love the Trellis Band Version 2, and there is one owned by butterfly17 in the five stone thread with the exact specs as mine which I have looked at dozens of times.
But I also love the Nightingale uprong and prefer very sleek modern settings. Another thought, if I get the Nightingale I can have alexandrite as the tiny sidestones, since that is my birthstone. It would be very cool to have such a rare gemstone even if it is just barely a chip
There won't be any remakes for this ring, so I need to get it right the first time.
Thoughts?
