Nope, but will get it this week. Is it just me or when you look at the top-down view, is the diamond sitting a little "crooked"? Maybe I''m imagining it.

Would this be because the prongs of the setting are covering the clusters of the inclusions?

I don''t personally see it crooked.

However, one thing has come to my attention. In looking at the first profile shot (from the side of the ring), the prong tips look fine. But in the other one, they don''t look like they''re touching the diamond, which they should be. Ask GOG to take another look at it to be sure. Because they will snag on things and possibly get bent back if they''re not sitting flush.

Ellen, thanks for pointing that out! They almost look like pictures of different rings? You''ve been a great help!

Let me know what they say if you can. And you''re quite welcome!

Sideview with the ring angled picture is accurate.

"The prongs only touch the diamond at the girdle and a little on the crown of the diamond and a little at the pavilion of the diamond just below the girdle. The middle of the pavilion to the culet is not supposed to touch the prongs."

"Anything with prongs has the potential of snagging. That’s why we set it at a medium height, too high would have a better chance of snagging and too low looks like it’s smooched in there."

I did choose the "medium" height for the setting vs. the "low" and "high" options. They said "medium" was the most common.

Ok, I don't know if you misunderstood me, or they misunderstood you. They're not really addressing what I am talking about.

I have taken the pic and circled where I see the potential problem. The underside/end of the tip of the prong should be resting ON the diamond/crown ALL the way. Do you see the gap of space between the underside of the prong and the diamond? That shouldn't be there.

Here's a thread on prongs, the first pic is what a well placed prong should look like. From the pics (and partially from their response, yours is not like that) See what I mean?

Thanks for the link, and the explanation, unfortunately it shipped early this morning before I read your post. Not much I can do about it now, since we will be leaving for Hawaii where I will propose. I''ll try to deal with it when I get back.

Well shoot. Ok, one thing I would do is take a good look at it when you get it, they''ll send a loupe with other stuff and the setting. If it indeed appears as it does in the pic, at least call them now and let them know, so they are aware that you may want it fixed, but why you can''t send it right back. I''m sure they''ll work with you to get it right.

And wow, have a great time, you couldn''t have picked a more beautiful spot to propose!!

It does look exactly as the picture appears. I spoke to them and the setter came into the room and said that its deeply in there and the diamond is not going anywhere. But they did offer to take care of it that was my desire (which is great, consistent with the top notch customer service I expected). I''m just not sure I will be able to pry it away from my girl to send it back.....

LOL

Don''t worry about that, this is a 6 prongs ring.
You won''t loose the diamond.

Thanks GOG, everything got resolved, no problems. Marie and Vicki were very friendly and helpful! Everyone loves the ring! GOG is awesome, definitely recommending it to other guys taking the big plunge!

Yay!
