Hi PSers,

I'm a diamond newbie and want to buy a diamond for my engagement ring, found this stone from an internet dealer, please see the image attached.

Stone profile:
1.02ct D color VS2 3EX none HCA score 1.4
6.56 - 6.57 x 3.91 mm
Total depth 59.6%
Table 60%
Crown angle 32.5
Pav angle 41

Just abit worry with the dark spot near girdle, that looks quite big to me(crystal?), and the seller asking for around 10.9k, want to know if this is a good deal or should I keep looking for more.

Thanks In Advance

I like the proportions of the JA stone better. With a taller crown height, steeper crown angle, and smaller table, you get more fire and still get brilliance. (That's presuming the JA stone's proportions still give a HCA score 2 or less.)

With the lower crown height, flatter crown angle, and large table, the fire tends to be around the rim of the diamond, and is seen more when the stone is tilted.

Thanks all for the input. I keep searching for another stone with a smaller table and I found this one:

Stone profile:
1.01ct G color VS1 3EX none
6.5 - 6.52 x 3.94 mm
Total depth 60.5%
Table 56%
Crown angle 34
Pav angle 40.6
HCA score 0.5
Price around 8.4k

The seller could only provide diamond photo but no IS and ASET image, and I could not see the stone unless paying the deposit, I also have no idea the short red lines near girdle are needle or feather. So should I take this one?

Thanks everyone In advance

It has good numbers and should be a nice stone.
