I'd just like some general thoughts on this ring/setting. What are your thoughts?

Side note: I've been doing quite a bit of research, visiting jewelers etc.

Many thanks, everyone!

Your Diamond

1.07‑carat Diamond, Princess Cut, Very Good‑cut, F‑color, VVS2‑clarity

Your Setting

Petite Diamond Engagement Ring in Platinum (1/10 ct. tw.)

Do you have links to the stone and the setting?

BN does not give you enough information to make an informed decision about a round diamond, but they are even more difficult to shop with when you are looking for a princess. It is impossible to know the quality until you see it in person.

Good thing is that you can get a top-notch princess stone from a reputable vendor that will provide all of the details necessary to make an informed decision, within your budget.

Here are some options, all at the same size (or larger) than the BN stone. All of these come from a vendor with a solid upgrade policy and are AGS 0 Ideal cut stones (highest cut grade available):

1.033ct, F, SI1

1.057ct, G, VS2

1.05ct, G, VS2

Ask them to make a photo of the three stones next to one another and make your decision from there.

Best of luck!

Between these three, which is considered the better diamond to purchase, and why? Thanks for your help!

With the information available on the site, there is negligible difference between all three. The difference in price is due to the color and clarity differences, but the color difference isn't something you'd notice, and all three are eye clean, so the clarity is a non-issue with respect to sparkle and performance. You really can't go wrong with any of the three. Now, some people prefer a higher color and/or higher clarity regardless of not being able to see the difference, and that's a personal choice that only you can make, not us.

Do what Rocky recommended and have them take a picture of all three together and choose which one you like the looks of best.
