Hello, and thanks in advance for any help anyone may be able to provide! I am looking for an engagement ring, and after having done all the reading I can do online, went into a jeweler yesterday to look at settings and diamonds.
I found a diamond that I really liked, but would just like some feedback on whether this is appropriately priced. I have ran a search for similarly specc'ed stones through the search here and come up with a few that are cheaper, but I completely understand that there are many other factors at play. I also ran it through HCA, and it scored a .5, although I must admit the scoring there is a little lost on me.
The diamond I am looking at is .73 carat I/Si1 GIA Excellent Cut. Report # 5186146949. He priced it off the Rapport sheet at $2690, which I feel is a bit on the high side.
As an aside, although it is an I/Si1, it did look better than some of the other diamonds that we looked at which had better specs. Even though the salesman was very helpful, I am admittedly still a little overwhelmed by all of the bits and pieces of shopping for the perfect diamond, so again I appreciate any advice that helps me to arm myself as a more informed consumer.
Cheers!
