First time buyer - cushion cut please help

Hi guys and girls.
First time buyer here from Australia.
Looking at getting a diamond and setting from JAmes Allen and have selected 2 diamonds I liked the look of.
They are both cushion cuts.
I have received both ASET images and wanted to see what you guys thought as I have tried researching but am still unsure.
I'm looking to spend around $1800 for a diamond. The rings they have that I like are 1100.
I've attached images of the info of both to see what you guys think.
The gemologist rated them both as great selections.

I was originally looking for something close to 1.00 but 1.10 may also look alright?

From what I was told I should look for red but there is barely any on that one.
The second one is a cushion brilliant

Or would I be better looking for something around the 0.55 carat with better colour and clarity ?
