Hi All,
First off, let me thank you for turning this very overwhelmed and clueless man into an informed consumer. You guys are the best.
Having read the advice on this forum I narrowed my search down to this stone:

1.21 Princess
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Table: 70.6%
Depth: 74.2%
Pavillion Depth: 62.6%
Crown Height: 8.7%
Crown Angle: 22.4
Girdle: M
Culet: N

Do you guys see anything that should raise a flag?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi

I’m pretty new here too, so I don’t know how much I can help.

I am comparing your pics to the following :
Idealscope images, a little way down
http://www.ideal-scope.com/using_fancy.asp
ASET images
http://www.ideal-scope.com/using_reference_chart_ASET.asp

There is a lot of white in the Idealscope pic. I know that Idealscope isn’t ideal in measuring a Princess cut, but I would be a bit concerned about that; and the black (which would be the equivalent of white, on the ASET) that’s showing through the ASET pic too.

I can’t tell you anything about the numbers that you’ve provided, as I am not that knowledgeable. But the patterns in your stone don’t look quite as symmetrical as other Princess cuts I’ve seen here.

Hopefully some Princess gurus will chime in!

overall exellent
the stone is tilted in the ASET picture making it look worse than it should.

I disagree, it is better than average but I doubt it is tilted - it has optical symmetry issues

BTW I have seen stones like this achieve AGS 0, and this one might be an example. So the light return etc can be very good.

could there be a range difference between 2 adjacent pav. angles that gives the impression of a tilt?
I notice the culet is in the center....

Rotate the ASET 90 degrees to the left and both images will be in synch. I agree with Garry. Also I don''t like ASET for trying to see leakage. I think the red reflector does it much better.

I only answered because no one else had, princess cuts blah! lol
Garry knows more about princess cuts than I do so listen too him on this one.

Thank you all for your help. I''m going to pull the trigger on this stone to see it in person and take advantage of whiteflash''s 10-day return policy
