hello
I have a request.
I do love colored gems and have collected a few the last decade.
I would now carefully start to collect a few diamonds for my own amusement.
I will at a later stage buy from your Gog, james Allen etc, a sign diamond with perfect cutting.
however, as a starter I would now like to buy a colored diamond - C.. on the argyle color scale, or something else that you would suggest or recommend. I would like to start out with a diamond in one of the unpopular colors, no treatments, I would guess no worse than I1 or I2.
I have been reading alot here from you guys about diamonds, but know very little myself about how to judge this kind of diamond.
I do love asia and stay there parts of the year, buying primerly in bkk, but also a little bit in myanmar and along time ago in phnom pehn. After the rainy season I will go to luc yen to have a look. Travel light.
It has taken me years and looking at ten thousand and more colored gems just to understand a little about gems in general, so I know I have a lot to learn about diamond.
When it comes to colored diamons color takes presedens over cutting I have been led to understand, so the brown or saturated champagne color with a fresh secondary hue would be thrilling for me to start with.
But the diamond has to be fiery. Firework. I dont think I will be happy about a milky stone. I have a few demantoids and to look into the houndreds of color flashes is a treat.
I did a few days ago bid on a diamond suggested by someone on the colored gem forum on a champagne sapphire tread, but I didnt agree with the seller on the price.
Any way, I would like to venture into the world of diamonds, try to see what the fuzz is all about, and I would be happy to get some guidence.
My quest will be a colored diamond, untreated, + - 1 ct ( color before weight), price approx 1000 usd.
I never buy colored gems from ebay, but I would do it with a colored diamond from a reputable seller. I do need a lab report to go with the stone.
thank you ladies and bruces
