First Anniversary Present

Question: what did you ladies get your man for a 1st anniversary present?

We were going to take a great trip out west to these amazing tent houses in BC, but that romantic getaway was shelved because we need funds to close on our first home

.

I also know exactly the perfect present for his 30th birthday coming up this year -- a stratocaster and amp --

but,

i''m at a complete loss for what to get for our anniversary.

we will not have the place before the anniversary! thank goodness, otherwise our anniversary celebration would likely be painting

Ha ha.. I was actually thinking that the papers on the house could be your "paper" part and then you could have a little indoor picnic in your new house to celebrate.

Our''s is coming up too! I love the ticket idea. If you didn''t want to spend a lot of money you could always frame a photo OR buy an art print for your new home. I kind of like to have something as a reminder. I am sentimental like that

First off, congratulations on buying your first house! That''s very exciting! I don''t have a great ideas. My 1st anniversary is coming up soon as well and I''ve been trying to come up with a good gift idea. I really want to take a short road trip somewhere but I can''t come up with any places to go. I like the ticket idea but we''re already going to a few baseball games this month. Sorry, I''m no help! I hope you get some great ideas!

I think it is a paper anni, but think we gave eachother watches or something. I love the idea of tickets to a great event, you could also get a copy of a menu of a favorite restaurant and give it to him to show him where you are taking him...

I am embarrased to admit, but I have NO idea! I honestly can''t remember. I''m sure it was not much though, something more thoughtful and inexpensive.

I was 5 months pregnant with our first child on our one year anniversary so I can''t imagine he spent much.

I have been married 12 years and find it kind of funny I don''t remember. I can guarantee he won''t remember either. but I plan on asking him in the morning!

We just celebrated our first anniversary-
our b-days fall immediately after our anni, so we give "combo" gifts.
Also we recently moved, and are saving for a house, so this was a modest year.

I gave DH a vineyard vines tie, belt and flip-flops (not all matching) and a pair of nantucket red shorts, I also got him a t-shirt and pair of shorts for sailing (hi-tech/quick dry fabric.)

He got me a jewel-jet steamer and a chip and dip bowl w/ my college mascot on it, that I spied when we were browsing before we went to dinner on our anniversary.
Also I bought a vintage bike off of craiglist and he had it tuned up for me and bought me a lock and air pump for it.

So while we didn''t plan for it- we both got one another fairly outdoorsy gifts.
