Please do not wait until after the trip to propose!!!! Trust me, that is going to RUIN that trip for her! She is going to expect that romantic trip to be the time, and I can't think of a bigger let down than for Valentine's AND a Carribean trip to be over without the proposal!!! Seriously, please propose in a romantic location near the beginning of that trip so she can be excited and have a memorable trip!

Since her father doesn't speak much English, is that even a custom in his culture for the guy to speak to the father/parents? In your case, you just may not be able to do it in advance. You may have to propose and then you two go see him and ask him if he will give his blessing to your being married and then celebrate with the family!

(Oh, and I love the ring!!! Don't make her wait any longer than that trip!)

Can I please ask whether you did not have an issue with the color? I am thinking about a Brellia (or another square H&A cushion / Square H&A) and am wondering how low in color can I go. Also, why did you go for Brellia and not for example Brian Gavin's H&A cushion or a ratiant H&A from GOG?

These shots were taken in sunlight with a iPhone (in a red case) hence the hints of reds, pinks, and yellows! In my opinion it looks much whiter in person than these photos, but color sensitivity is a personal preference. When doing my homework J color was as low as I would go..i would of also considered an si1 that was eyeclean....where I did not want to compromise was the quality of the cut because what I learned on pricescope was to go after that performance, brilliance, that sparkle...

I considered Brian Gavin's H&A as well as Blue Nile H&A Cushion....went with the Brellia for a few reasons..fell in love with the shape and lines..I felt it was perfect...available inventory at the time I was shopping was influential...I also preferred the Cushion Brilliant of the the Brellia vs the Cushion Modified Brilliant of the Blue Nile and Brian Gavin...and GOG's upgrade policy is one of the best in the business so it was a win win win!
