First let me say thank you to everyone who helped educate me on this forum...pricescope is truly "priceless" ..and a special thanks to Gypsy for being so kind and helpful.

Second - huge thank you to Stephanie at GOG - highly recommend! Worked with her for several months (since last sep-oct) in putting together the right stone with the right setting, and she always displayed high levels of enthusiasm, helpfulness, patience, and professionalism. Spoke with Jonathan a couple times too and everyone here already knows his reputation is solid for good reason.

Super thrilled and excited with the final product, a 1.09 I color VS2 Brellia Square Cushion set in a Platinum Tacori 2616

These pictures were taken with my iPhone and they do no justice so I will try to get some better pictures uploaded to show how beautiful the ring and stone really are! In the meantime its time to come up with a proposal plan!!

Ooooh Brellia! Very nice. Just be prepared for people thinking its a princess due to the intense square-shape. Super shiny though. Congrats!

Congratulations!

So what's the proposal plans?

And more pics too, if you can!

Wow thank you everyone for all of the positive feedback, and thank you again GOG!!! Will need to see if I can get my hands on a real camera capable of macro shots for better pics and absolutely will have a professional for the hand shots when that time comes!

As for the proposal plans...well the first part of the plan was getting the ring, now the second part of the plan is to figure out how to propose! :o

I know she will say yes...we talk about getting married all of the time, and its not "if we get married"....its always "when we get married"..."can't wait until we are married" .....believe me I am so ready to marry her and I am positive she feels the same way...

Here is the thing...I need this to be a surprise...I don't want her to see it coming...but at the same time I want it to be romantic and special and unforgettable....

Valentine's day is around the corner but I wonder if that will be too obvious, or cliche...I'm also wondering if it would be preferred to be a one on one...alone..which can be more romantic....or maybe in front of the families..speech/toast type of way...which will have more surprise impact..

Which reminds me...I want to do the right thing and ask her father for her hand in marriage....should that come before or after I propose?

I thought getting the ring was the hard part....but now I think thats the easy part hahaha

You're right. V-day would be tooooo obvious. Pretend you are taking her to a casual meal the day before, really casually, not dressed up, no flowers, no plans, just on your way to run an errand. Then propose before you get to the restaurant, and have a dinner reservation at a nice restaurant planned for after she says, "YES!!" That will totally surprise her. I am a private proposal kinda person. Some people love the in front of the family, friends and whole world thing. What would she prefer?

Uh, asking her dad comes before the proposal. Otherwise, you are not really asking for permission, not that you are expecting a no.

That sounds like a sweet and charming plan...but to be honest we have been talking about going to an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean's for this Valentines day...

I think if its done right either public or private would be great...we were once at a concert and a guy proposed and they put it on the big screen and she loved it...but watching romantic movies with private proposals gets her all emotional too...

Normally asking her dad first is the no brainer...except he lives in another country, and speaks barely any English :o although if I time things out correctly we could visit him (and her family) on our way back from the resort...so maybe doing the romantic weekend at the resort ..champagne and massages..a cute v-day present...resort weekend is over without a proposal, and then visiting her family and talking to her dad and proposing after..surprise surprise...and we could have that celebratory moment with her family

Another thought is if I take her to the place where we first kissed...I always thought about that but we haven't been there in a couple years and she has joked that if and when I ever take her back there I have to propose to her...so she will see it coming a mile away..but what great memories we have there ....

HI:

Ring is stunning--and somehow I just "know" your proposal will match.

Come back with hand shots!

cheers--Sharon

Such a beautiful ring, well done. I love brellia's. Good luck with the proposal.
