Finally received my crisscut ring - b2cjewels said this is hand made; is it supposed to look like this?

After some weeks of delay, I have received received my criss-cut ring!

The prongs are delicate and very pretty, however the workmanship for one side profile...looks "crooked and messy"...for the lack of better description.

B2cjewels said that this is expected since it is hand made.

Comparing the rings made by my local jeweler and the ones made by James Allen, they are all very neatly lined up. I have pretty mixed feelings about my new ring right now....

That head is definitely askew. I would be most unhappy with that profile. I’m sorry! And it’s super tall IMO too.
Would love to see the stone and setting from the top?

No.
Sloppy workmanship and I wouldn’t accept it.
Also, why is the diamond set up so high? It’s a few mm clear of the band and unless it’s your chosen design aesthetic it’s out of balance.
How expensive was the setting? I mean, if you paid a good price it’s totally unacceptable but if it was more “budget priced” then the attention to detail will be less.

I think it’s probably made fine, just poorly polished so it looks all askew.

I can’t stand when a company tries to tell me that their error is natural and inevitable happenstance. Time to escalate the complaint.

Lol "natural bc its handmade " is absurd. First of all, I can almost guarantee they didnt hand make the setting (I dont think they handforge). Second, even if they did hand forge this wouldn't be acceptable. Its just sloppy work.

In a word, no.

It's poorly executed.

If tell them it's not acceptable. Is this a setting from Stuller, another maker, etc.?

Definitely not Stuller, i think it is b2c inhouse department.

Uh no! Go up the management ladder and find someone responsive. This is not acceptable!

I am speaking to Patrick right now and he offered me a $50 gift card for future purchases from them... :confused2:

Sure, I will post more photos later...I didnt get a chance to bring it out under the sunlight...have been clocking 11 hours for work daily this week! :(2

I have a couple Stuller rings and they look nothing like that. I would definitely chase this one down.

I really dislike when vendors fob purchasers off. You want what you paid for!!! That’s a ring that doesn’t look like part of it is askew. Stand firm on this one. Get them to fix your ring or remake it.

How the heck are you getting poorly made rings twice?

Edit.. three times.

It's twice for me.. One from James Allen and now this. The other was a referal to a friend.. Which makes it x3.. Bad luck I guess?

My hubby is nagging that I should stop buying anymore jewelry from overseas... Hahaha

Fortunately my latest purchase from newworlddiamond.com is just the loose diamond! Not taking anymore chances!

An update that I just received a call from b2c Anthony... He explained the lapse and apologised for the poor workmanship. So now I am working with him to see what's the best recourse for this issue. Will keep all updated!

Hope this gets resolved quickly and satisfactorily (is that a real word? Lol).

great news! Happy they acknowledged that the workmanship wasn't ok.

@Slick1 , as requested....the photos & videos have been posted under this thread. :)

Honestly, you are trying to buy a setting from diamond sellers whose main area is not selling high quality settings. I'd get a cheap plain solitaire from one of them if I wanted to wear the ring until I decided on a final ring. But I'd have Victor C, Caysie, David K, or Steven K make a quality setting for me.
