Hello all, you may remember Sandy and I from these two former threads:
Update & Review - we bought from Nice Ice!
and
Thoughts on this .50 ct IF sig Blue Nile?
Well, we finally received the finished ring. We purchased the setting from Kara Lebo at EE Robbins in downtown Seattle and had an awesome experience. We intend to purchase our wedding bands from her. See below for some pics of the size 2.75 platinum ring (Sandy is a 5ft dentist who can pull teeth with ease, with her small hands). It fits perfectly. We learned before that we cannot specifically identify the designer of the setting on pricescope, as it filters out such posts. Kind of disconcerting, but we love the setting (.10 carats on very small channel set side stones, with the setting low to the finger)
That said, we love the diamond even more. I''m going to copy some of what i wrote previously to give Todd Gray at NiceIce another deserving plug. For those who haven''t read this before. The stone is a .952 ct D color VS2 RB, AGS 0 w/ ideal sym and polish from Nice Ice. According to cert, table=57.3, depth=61, crown=34.3, pavilion=40.9. HCA of 1.5, ex-ex-vg-vg. Todd''s Sarin Diamension analysis shows slightly different measurements -- table=57.4, depth=60.8, crown=34.3, pavilion=40.8, culet-0.4... typing those numbers in HCA yields ex-ex-ex-vg. Regardless, we love it!
Detailed info on this diamond from Nice Ice
Sandy and I met personally with Todd Gray from Nice Ice in Seattle. Todd was great... he showed us four stones and we learned a lot about the history of the stones (thanks to Paul at Infinity! BTW, we made sure to find your logo after the diamond was set) and the industry in general. We shared some good stories and played with the stones in a number of different lighting conditions. Todd''s approach is low-pressure, friendly and we are now thrilled with our purchase. In general, a great experience that Sandy and I will always treasure. THANK YOU TODD!
It may take me a few posts to posts all the pix of the ring.
Cheers and thank you all,
Ben & Sandy
