After a week of deliberation andthe anxiety of having three gemstones in the house just asking to be lost down an air vent narry to be seen again.... I finally decided.
The winner is Good Old Gold! It was honestly and truly a neck and neck decision between WF and GOG.
WF being .60 ACA G VS1 and GOG .65 H&A E VS1
My appraiser said that both diamonds were cut very well and from a face up standpoint, you couldn''t tell the diff. between E and G. I stared for hours - I still see spots!
I had to call up James from WF and tell him the bad news. He told me that GIA EX diamonds aren''t the same as AGSL ID, and that would probably be the reason why GOG was a little cheaper. Everyone has their opinion about GIA vs AGSL, but as long as the proportions are right then choosing between EX or ID doesn''t matter. They''re both beautiful.
He tried to convince me to look at a few of the other diamonds he had to offer. I, admittedly, began to fold like a wet paper napkin. My FI only chuckled at my loss of composure. I even put James on hold and said "Honey, he wants us to look at other diamonds! What should I do??". He gently put his hands on my shoulder and said, "tell him thank you, but no".
Still, WF was super extra nice, patient, and helpful. He really went out of his way to find what I was looking for. I feel bad I didn''t choose WF, but that doesn''t mean I won''t in the future. I''ve been toying with the idea of getting an Gelin & Abaci pinky ring sometime in the late future.
Anyway, that''s besides the point. I finally chose a diamond! After the Insurance goes through, I will be setting my stone! I''m Exciiiited
And I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the PSers who have educated me and reassured me that I was doing the right thing.. and that I wasn''t being TOO crazy.
The GIA report is 17064905 0.64 carats
