Absolutely stunning!! :kiss2: Did Adiamor make the setting as well?

Thank you!
Yes, it is their "perfect solitaire" setting. I planned on having it as a temp setting while deciding what to do with it, but I actually think I might keep it as is!

OMG I LOVE IT!! Gorgeous! Congratulations on your beautiful lab family!

I was going to say, I'm loving the solitaire mount.

How does the performance compare between the AVC and the elongated antique cushion?

I think they are very comparable in performance. The lab is brighter overall, but I am not sure if the comparison is completely fair because of the size and color difference.

The lab is an E, while the avc is a J. I have noticed the color difference, and although it is a minor difference in my eyes, I do think that the E color does add a "brighter" look to the lab in most surroundings, affecting the visual performance...

The size is also a huge factor. The big bright facets in the larger stone comparing to the relative smaller facets in the smaller stone... I think this is the factor that makes the biggest difference here and it is hard to disregard. It is like comparing my .5 ct rb to my 2 ct rb... The 2 ct obviously wins...

Performance-wise, the AVC also has a more "perfect" facet pattern when looking at the stone top down, than the lab. But the lab is more interesting... Which may be because I have had the avc for so long that I know it too well.

I am very impressed by the lab. I think I was expecting a bigger difference between the two.

@molecule your question re the difference in performance gave me inspiration to take a few pictures. I don't have a hca tool or anything to measure light performance. But the avc should be great in this regard and since the lab is equally nice in my eyes I do think that says something.
Also... These stones are extremely hard to photograph. They simply do not look like this IRL... They are very lively. A clip would maybe be more helpful... Or a better photographer. In the photos the vac appears more dark than irl and the lab looks a little mushy, both far from how they look IRL.
Anyway, if this is helpful,

Trying to align them, the same height..

Thanks for taking the time to evaluate and take more pictures!
I am planning on my own purchase and appreciate hearing discussion from others who have seen the cuts in person. I had originally not considered an elongated cushion as I prefer the outline of a more squarish cushion vs the elongated ones. I had also had concerns about the big facets of the elongated antique cushions being too static.

I appreciate hearing your perspective.

Really understand this, I had the same concerns and also thought that I preferred the square shape. I finally decided to try out the elongated shape because I felt that the square shape gets to tall/ high carat in the m.m. size I wanted. This one is probably the biggest I would wear for everyday wear, maybe a tad on the larger side even.

The big facets on this lab is not at all static, or they are equally static as in the square avc. Just a very small tilting of the stone changes the look, although there are always big bold facets flashing in different ways.

I was also worried about being able to see through the stone in certain angles, as has been described here with elongated puffy cushions. This is not the case with this stone at all. I did however look specifically at the side view when buying the stone and making sure it wasn't a "pancake".

I would totally recommend getting one! (And posting lots of pictures of you do!)

Absolutely lovely. You did a good job scrutinizing the different views and you avoided the mushy/window centers that we see in so many of the shallow antique reproductions.

Gosh it’s so beautiful!!! I really love it!!

How on earth did I miss this thread? Your ring is stunningly beautiful @acaw2015. I love elongated cushions and ovals and think the solitaire setting is perfect for your stone. it looks so beautiful on your hand.

Did you work with someone at Adaimor who helped you select this diamond? Do you happen to know the dimensions of your stone?

Thank you @Calliecake !

No help from adiamor in the search, I searched (and searched and searched) myself for a number of months before pulling the trigger on this one. Adiamor were very nice and helpful throughout, but I contacted them only after finding the stone myself. Funny thing you ask, because the sales contact I had actually asked me, is this really what you want? And asked if I really wouldn't prefer a more generic cut...

I had a few search parameters from fellow psers and had done a bit of research to know what to look for. Also, I already have an avc so I kind of had an idea of the personality. But I was still a little worried before seeing it IRL! I have the lab report somewhere, but this is the link to the stone, I think there may be info there still: https://www.adiamor.com/Lab-Diamonds/3.01-ct-E-VS2-Excellent-Cut-Cushion-Diamond/D57584170?#

Thank you so much for attaching the information @acaw2015. Your stone is SO BEAUTIFUL! When i came upon this thread I fell in love with your stone.
