Wooooo hooooo!!!! I can''t believe it is finally on my finger!!!
Story time...a little long, but I thought I wouldn''t leave anything out for you ladies!!!!
We have been searching for the perfect diamond for us since probably December of last year. I found Pricescope...and Jonathan at GOG...shortly after. Waited patiently for Jonathan to find us "the one"...he did in August. So, FI and I promptly went up to SingleStone in September to drop it off and design the ring. Again, waiting paitiently (yeah right) for it to be finished.
On one of our trips up to LA to SingleStone to give the final "okay" on the design, FI and I got in a big fight over me being on my BlackBerry and not helping him with directions. You know...one of those moments!! So, he took off wandering in LA and I went to SingleStone to give the "okay" - talk about awkward! On FI''s walk, he found a beautiful 1930s theater that lo and behold was hosting one of our favorite bands a few weeks later. So, FI decides to not be mad anymore and bought us tickets on the spot - but doesn''t tell me about it!!!
So, a few weeks later, he says...let''s go up to LA, I want to take you to a concert! I''m, of course, excited because the ring is supposed to be finished, so I''m thinking THIS IS IT!! We go to the concert on Sunday - it was amazing - and Monday morning my FI "disappears" to go get us coffee. Well, we just happened to be in walking distance of SingleStone, so my suspicions are extremely heightened! He returns after a LONG time with two coffees.
We check out of the hotel and the day goes on...uneventful!!! UGH!!!
So, now I''m having total LIW insecurity for the next week...does he have it?? Maybe he doesn''t??? Maybe it really isn''t ready yet??? Hmmmm...
I go away for a girls weekend and I''m hemming and hawing to my girls...they say - just be patient!!! UGH, again!!!
When I return, I put it out of my mind and I figure, well, he''ll probably ask me during our Thanksgiving trip, so I just let it go. This past Monday, FI says...let''s go camping...there is supposed to be a meteor shower. This is not unusual for us, so I think nothing of it. We go camping...it is freezing and dirty! Next morning we make breakfast at the campfire, just hang out, pack up camp, etc. He calls me over to help him put out the fire. I whine about it but go over anyway. Then, he starts saying how he loves going camping with me...how we should do this more often...be spontaneous, etc. I''m agreeing...and still NOT thinking anything of it.
Then, he grabs me in a big hug and starts saying I want to spend the rest of my life with you...I love you...etc....and pulls the ring out of his back pocket!!! Aaaaaahhhhh!!!! Down on one knee...will you marry me??? Of course!!!! Puts the ring on my dirty camping hands, but it still looks gorgeous!!!
Such a perfect moment for us! I couldn''t be happier!!!
